About Kate
Kate Middleton was born in Canberra, grew up in Melbourne and now lives in Sydney. She holds undergraduate degrees in Arts and Music from the University of Melbourne, and MA from Georgetown University in Washington DC and an MFA from the University of Michigan.
Her first book, Fire Season, was published by Giramondo in 2009. This collection won the Western Australian Premier’s Award for Poetry.
During the course of her year as the Sydney City Poet Kate hopes to make this site a place to celebrate Australian poetry as well as to consider the poet process.
